How it all started...
Our Story
Galley & Fen came to us like most ideas — while stuck in traffic on the way home from a nine to five job that wasn't fulfilling any creative outlets. We continuously found ourselves venting about design that derived no pleasure from the simple & timeless elements and relied on cheap grandeur to compensate.
We decided it was time to open shop in 2016, designing and creating finishes that hearken back to simpler times and convey beauty in every element. With every product and space we create, we are determined to help bring about a renaissance of elegantly simple, beautiful designs.
Our Purpose
Galley and Fen was founded out of our passion for European-style vintage pieces. As interior designers, we noticed a significant gap in the market for vintage-inspired pieces that boasted both quality and affordability. Faced with the challenge of satisfying our customer's needs, we decided to create these pieces ourselves.
Every item we offer is meticulously designed by our team and meticulously crafted by a dedicated family of skilled artisans in India. The hand-crafted nature of our products ensures that each piece is unique, with its own character and charm. The subtle variations in these pieces are what lend them their distinctive beauty and appeal.
Our ultimate mission is to create timeless works of art that find a cherished place in homes, where they will be treasured and passed down for generations to come. We are fueled by our desire to share our passion and vision with others who appreciate the beauty in simplicity. Founder & Product Officer
Laurel graduated with a degree in interior design. She uses her design background to create products that are timeless and are sure to stick around for generations. As a mom to three little boys, she definitely has her hands full but wouldn’t have it any other way. Her love for European design shows in her products and her taste for quality products shines through in everything she touches.
Catherine Blake
Head of Wholesale Growth
Catherine keeps the day to day running smoothly and keeps all the customers happy. Catherine is also a talented designer and beautifies everything she touches. She is a wonderful mom to four boys. When she’s not working, you can find her playing the piano, thrifting, exercising, creating, reading, and excelling at any task she puts her mind to. We’re so grateful to have her on the team!
